IIPODThe International Inland Port of Dallas
This is a public-private partnership that continues regional intermodal development, building on the success of DFW Airport and AllianceTexas. Its aim is to make Dallas the nation’s premier logistics and distribution center. IIPOD is a stimulus for the South Dallas Corridor promoting investment, job growth and development of sustainable communities. It is focused at the coming together of Interstates 35, 45, and I-20 The project’s area encompasses more than 7,000 acres and six municipalities, making good use of the region’s superior transportation infrastructure that includes five interstate highways and the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroads. Recent and current development by sixteen developers totals more than 12 million square feet of warehouse space, of which over 10 million square feet is leased to more than twenty tenants.
